CNC Machined Polyimide ball bearing cage
Properties and Applications of Polyimide:
High-Temperature Resistance: Polyimide materials, including those used in seals, are known for exceptional thermal stability, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures ranging from cryogenic levels up to 400°C (752°F) for continuous service and even higher intermittently.
Excellent Mechanical Properties: They exhibit high strength, including tensile, compressive, and wear resistance, making them suitable for demanding sealing applications in high-pressure and high-speed environments.
Chemical Resistance: Polyimide seals are generally resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, solvents, and fuels, making them valuable in harsh chemical environments, although they may be susceptible to strong alkalis.
Applications: Polyimide seals are used in various critical industries due to their robust properties, including:
Aerospace: Engine components, insulation, and thermal barriers.
Electronics: Circuit boards, wire insulation, and high-temperature connectors.
Automotive: Sensors, diaphragms, and high-temperature seals.
Industrial: Piston rings, valve seats, bearings, and special pump seals in harsh environments.
